Family & Youth Therapy

When something feels off with your child or family, reaching out isn't overreacting. It's exactly what caring parents do. We're here to help.

Our Approach

Gentle, age-appropriate, and built on trust

Children and adolescents aren't small adults. They experience the world differently, process emotions differently, and need a therapeutic approach that meets them where they actually are.

Our clinicians who work with young people and families are trained in developmentally appropriate methods. Sessions are paced carefully, built around safety and trust, and never rushed.

We also know that healing rarely happens in isolation. Family involvement is often a central part of the work, because when one member of a family is struggling, the whole family feels it.

Signs to Look For

When reaching out makes sense

You know your child better than anyone. If something feels off, that instinct is worth paying attention to.

Mood changes that feel significant or have lasted several weeks
Withdrawal from friends, family, or things they used to enjoy
Anxiety that's affecting daily life, school, or sleep
Behavioural changes that feel out of character
Struggles at school that weren't there before
Difficulty managing emotions in age-appropriate ways
Your family has been through something hard and needs support
You just feel like something isn't right, even if you can't name it

Reaching out doesn't mean something is seriously wrong.

It means you're paying attention. The families who come in early, before things escalate, consistently tell us they wish they'd come sooner. There's no threshold you have to hit before you deserve support.

Common Questions

Questions about family and youth therapy

Does my child have to want to come to therapy? ↓
Reluctance is really common, especially with teenagers. Our clinicians are experienced at building trust with young people who come in with their guards up. Often the first session, which is low-pressure and conversational, shifts the dynamic significantly. You can reach out even if your child is uncertain.
Will I be involved in my child's therapy? ↓
It depends on your child's age and what they're working on. For younger children, parental involvement is central to the work. For adolescents, your therapist will balance your child's need for a confidential space with appropriate family involvement. This gets discussed openly at the start of treatment.
What's the difference between child therapy and family therapy? ↓
Child therapy focuses primarily on the individual child, with family involvement as support. Family therapy works with the family system as a whole, the relationships and dynamics between everyone. Often both are needed at different stages. Your therapist will help you figure out which approach fits your situation.
Is therapy for kids and teens covered by insurance? ↓
Most major insurance plans cover therapy with a registered clinician regardless of the client's age. Coverage depends on your specific plan. Get in touch before your first appointment and our team will help you understand what's covered.

Your family deserves support too.

No referral required. Most insurance accepted. We'll match you with the right clinician for your child and family.
