Sumi Iqbal, multilingual EMDR-trained therapist in Halifax and Dartmouth
Multilingual Therapy

Therapy in English, Urdu & Hindi

Trauma-informed, EMDR-trained care for newcomers, immigrants, and anyone who would rather not translate themselves before they can heal. In person in Dartmouth and Halifax, and online across Nova Scotia.

You don't have to translate yourself

Healing is hard enough without a language barrier

Starting therapy is a big step. Doing it in a second language — often after a difficult journey, in a new country, far from the people who know you — asks even more. Sumi Iqbal offers therapy in English, Urdu, and Hindi, so you can speak in the language your feelings actually live in.

Her work is trauma-informed and culturally responsive: an affirming space where your background, faith, and worldview are part of the work, not something to explain away.
