I'm a warm and thoughtful therapist supporting clients through trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, stress, and major life transitions. I work from a relational and trauma-informed perspective.
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor, a Registered Counselling Therapist within the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, and I completed my Master of Education in Counselling from Acadia University.
Having lived most of my developmental and childhood years outside of Canada, where I was born, I have fostered value and respect for the unique nature of every lived experience. I welcome individuals from a variety of backgrounds and emphasize collaboration to explore the root causes that are impacting daily life. My therapeutic work is grounded in the belief that the client inherently holds the qualities necessary for healing and that establishing a trusting therapeutic environment creates space for meaningful change. I meet individuals with warmth, kindness, and patience, recognizing the bravery in being vulnerable.
I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which I use to support a variety of concerns impacting daily life, including identifying stuck patterns of behaviour that influence relationships with oneself and others. My therapeutic work is trauma-focused, integrative, and informed by evidence-based modalities. These modalities include mindfulness-based techniques, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-based theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I work with individuals as well as couples. I have experience supporting people navigating grief, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I am passionate about supporting people in building a healthier self-relationship and often work with individuals exploring or clarifying their values. I have a keen interest in working with individuals on burn-out prevention and recovery from burn-out. Prior to pursuing clinical work, I worked for many years within a post-secondary setting supporting young adults with anxiety and life transitions.
