I approach my work with compassion and the understanding that everyone has unique strengths, and that sometimes people need a helping hand to navigate what life puts in front of them.

About

A little more about me

I'm a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I'm committed to ongoing professional development and to upholding high standards of practice.

Originally from the United States, I bring a rich academic background to my practice. I hold a Doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia, where I developed a deep understanding of the brain's mechanisms and how they shape behaviour and emotion. I also earned a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, which gave me the clinical skills to support people through their mental health journeys.

I use an eclectic approach, integrating modalities to fit each client. I draw on Internal Family Systems to help you understand and heal your internal parts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to build psychological flexibility, Emotionally Focused Therapy to strengthen emotional bonds, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy to address personal emotional experiences.

I work with the 2SLGBTQI+ community, and offer both online and in-person sessions for accessibility and convenience.
